14 Days Yunnan Ecology Tour

Yunnan is situated at the southwest corner of China, borders Tibet, Burma, Laos, and Vietnam. It has everything from the towering snow mountains to the tropical rain forest, so it earned another name as the Kingdom of Plants and Animals. In this tour, if you are lucky, you will have chance to see the precious golden-hair monkeys in the mountain of Lanping. The golden-hair monkey is very beautiful and lovely, but its number is reducing, in rencent years, the government has taken some measures to try to protect it.
 
ITINERARY
D1
Arrive in Kunming, meet at airport and transfer to your hotel. Kunming, called the City of Eternal Spring, is more than 2200 years old.

Take a morning flight to Dali, an old town set beside a lake and against a backdrop of mountains, you will see the local agriculture, observe small temples and visit local markets and Three Pagodas. You'll encounter many minority people in native dress and you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the folk-singing and dancing of the Bai group.

Take chair-lift up Cangshan Mountain. Hike and enjoy the birds-eye view of the Dali area, Viewing flowers and many kinds of plants in the mountain.

Ride about 2 hours to Shibaoshan, visit the famous Shibaoshan Grottos, enjoy the mysterious buddhism culture. Afterward drive to Lanping, a city well-known with the largest plumbum-zincum mine in China. North area of Lanping are covered by flourish vegetation. Overnight at the Lanping Hotel.

Ride about 2 hours get into Luoguqin Valley which is well-known with unique red sandstone, also more than 120 kinds of birds and 60 species of azalea grow there. After visiting Pumi people's village, start trekking. In the valley, you will have opportunity to visit colorful azaleas(May and June) and enjoy birds' sing. Camp in the valley.

Hike up to Dayangchang which is a beautiful alpine pasture (3200m) surrounded by azaleas. Visit Yi people who living on feeding yaks. Camp on pasture.

With elevation of 4402 meters, Nine-finger Mountain looks like a pyramid. Besides of various azaleas, tens of alpine lakes scatter on the area. It's a hard path to those limpid lakes, and should take you 4 hours to hike through bamboos up there. Enjoy picnic beside those lakes. And then back to Dayangchang. Camp there.

Trek about 20km to Liming, a nice place to visit freakish physiognomy. On the way, enjoy original forest scenery, and visit Lisu ethnic group village. Stay in local guesthouse in Liming.

Drive to Tiger-leaping Gorge, en route, sightseeing in Stone Drum, a little town located in the First Bend of Yangtze River. Overnight at Woody's house in Walnut Grove which is a beautiful village in the middle part of the gorge.

Trek about 2 hours to the end of the gorge, then ferry across Yangtze River, go on trekking for 2 hours to Daju. Pick up and then drive to Lijiang Old Town which has been inscribed by UNESCO on the World Natural and Cultural Heritage List.

Free time in Lijiang.

Drive one hour on well paved mountain path to the Wenfeng Monastery where the Red Hat Sect Buddhism is still practised. This monastery is still untouched by tourists and has a extemely beautiful surroundings. Have a nice bird eye's view of Lijiang. Visit Black Dragon Pool and Dongba Cutural Museum in the afternoon.

Take a morning flight back to Kunming, Visit the Expo Garden. Stay in a 4 star hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to airport and see you off.
