ITINERARY

Kunming
Arrive in Kunming, meet at Kunming airport and transfer to the 4 star New Era Hotel in center of downtown area.

Kunming/Zhongdian( by air)/Xiangcheng
Take a morning flight from Kunming to Zhongdian(3200 m high), meet at Zhongdian airport and transfer to visit the Songzanlin Monastery which was built 300 years ago under the instruction of the 5th Dalai Lama. After lunch, drive 220 km from Zhongdian to Xiangcheng. Stay in the 1 star Xiangcheng Hotel.

Xiangcheng/Daocheng/Riwa
Drive 80 km from Xiangcheng to Daocheng, after lunch, drive 70 km from Daocheng to Riwa. From here, our minibus has to stop.(All travelers have to take the Green Minibus run by the nature reserve, No private vehicles are permitted to drive into the reserve). So, you will take the Green Minibus for another 40 km from Riwa to Yading. Stay in the local Tibetan-family-house-changed-into-hostel.

Yading Nature Resort
In the morning, you will start your 6 days trekking clockwise around the holy mountains. We will hire horseman and horses to take all your luggages, the food and camping equipments. First, trek south for 8 km to Chonggu Monastery(3880 m high), from here, you can see the north face of the Shiannairi Peak(6032 m high), then, continue trek east for 15 km to Bayiu village. Stay in local tibetan villager's house, or camping.

Yading Nature Resort
Trek east for 5 km up to the Risa Pass(4900 m high), from here, you can see the north face of the Xianuoduoji Peak(5898 m high), then continue trek east for 12 km to Zhawuqi Yak Ranch. Camping at night.

Yading Nature Resort
Trek southwest following a riverside path for 8 km to Risa Yak Ranch, from here, you can see the east face of the Xianuoduoji Peak, then continue trek southwest following the river for 12 km to Xiasu Yak Ranch. From here, you can see the the south face of the Xianuoduoji Peak. Camping at night.

Yading Nature Resort
Trek southwest for 6 km up to a mountain pass(about 4700 m high), from here, you can see the east face of the Yangmaiyong Peak(5898 m high), then continue trek southwest for 16 km to Yana Yak Ranch. From here, you can see the south face of the Yangmaiyong Peak. Camping at night.

Yading Nature Resort
Trek northeast following a stream for 16 km back to Chonggu Monastery, on the way, you will see all the 3 holy peaks because you are surrounded by them. Stay in the Big Tent Hostel. End of your 6 days trekking.

Yading Nature Resort
Trek from Chonggu Monastery back to Yading, then take the Green Minibus back to Riwa, then change to our minibus back to Daocheng. Stay in the Hot Spring Cottage where you can have a good hot spring bath.

Daocheng/Xiangcheng/Zhongdian
Drive from Daocheng to Zhongdian via Xiangcheng. Stay in the 4 star Sightseeing Hotel.

Zhongdian
We leave the morning open for a rest. In the afternoon, we will visit Ganden Sumsanlin monastery, the largest monastery in Yunnan, built in the 17th century. This impressive monastery was established under the instruction of the 5th Dalai Lama, and is home to over 700 monks. Stay in the same.

Zhongdian/Kunming
We'll take a morning flight back to Kunming. The end of the tour.
