Mt. Siguniang Nature Reserve (Fourgirls Mountain) ,locating in the bordering area of Xiaojing County and Wenchuan County, is actually a cluster of four peaks ranking in a 3.5km belt northsouth. This reserve consists four areas, namely Mt Siguniang, Shuangqiaogou, Changping and Haizigou covering 450m2. The mountain is the highest peak in the eastern edge of the Hengduan Mountain ranges in the transition zone between the Tibet plateau and the Sichuan Basin. The four peaks, 6250m, 5664m, 5454m and 5355m respectively, are snow-capped all year round like 4 beautiful girls in white curtains with its name stemming from a Tibetan legend about four girls. And it is also called the Alps in the East. |
